Overview

Bookmark Butler (the "Extension") is a Chrome side-panel tool that helps you organize your bookmarks. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data the Extension touches, how it's handled, and what rights you have.

In short: the Extension does not send any of your data to our servers — because we do not operate any servers. All data lives in your local Chrome installation.

1. Data We Do Not Collect

The Extension does not collect, transmit, upload, or store any of the following on the developer's or any third party's servers:

We do not sell, share, or rent user data to any third party — because we never receive any user data in the first place.

2. Data Stored Locally

The Extension uses Chrome's chrome.storage.local API to store the following data on your local device only. This data is not synced to the cloud and is never transmitted externally:

Data Purpose
Tags Custom tags you assign to your bookmarks
Settings Sort order, view mode, theme, and other personalization preferences
Saved Searches Search filter combinations you create
Link Status Cached results from your manual "Scan Links" runs
AI Config Your chosen AI provider and the API keys you supply

When you uninstall the Extension, Chrome automatically removes the data above from your device.
